Carl Schumann Porcelain Marks

Through the long history of Carl Schumann porcelain, there were a variety of Carl Schumann porcelain marks in use. From the humble beginnings of the tiny factory in 1881, until its final closing in 1994, Schumann porcelain was made in Arzburg, Germany.

This porcelain was very colorful with a distinctive Dresden influence. Carl Schumann porcelain marks have been plentiful throughout the years. They include Schumann Bavaria, Schumann Dresden, Schumann Bavaria Dresdner Art, and Schumann Arzburg Germany. There were marks of various colors used by Carl Schumann porcelain. Golds, blues, greens and reds were all used to imprint a unique mark on to the factory's porcelain.

Also often included were the words that indicated which factory had actually made the piece. The mark of the red crown, on the other hand, was used as early as 1918 and also featured the words Schumann Bavaria on it.
