Although the Rosenthal company became a corporation in 1897, it was not until a decade later that Rosenthal Porcelain marks started being used. The year of 1907 marked the first time that the full name of Rosenthal was used as a mark on its porcelain wares.
The marks of Rosenthal porcelain have changed throughout the years. Many of the marks feature the Rosenthal name written under a crown atop crossed swords. In most cases, any town names inscribed under the mark of Rosenthal served to designate the factory from which the Rosenthal porcelain piece originated.
In some instances, the Rosenthal porcelain mark consists of two crossed swords that are splitting the Rosenthal name in two. The split occurs between the letter N and the letter T in the Rosenthal name. Typically, there is a crown resting in between the top of the crossed swords. Not all of the Rosenthal porcelain marks feature a town name or the name of a country, however.

Another Rosenthal porcelain mark that is often seen has the Rosenthal name situated under two crossed flowers. A crown rests atop the open area of the crossed flowers. The country name is inscribed under the name of Rosenthal.
