Arcade Crystal Coffee Grinder

During the first few years of the 1900’s into the 1930’s, Arcade Manufacturing Company made a number of coffee grinders. Located in Freeport Illinois, they were famous for making the “Crystal Series” grinders that featured glass canisters and were wall mounted. The moving parts were cast iron, and there are many that are still in great condition in existence.

Of all the different models of grinders that Arcade produced, it’s the model number 3 that remains the most expensive and most desired of all the designs. The Arcade Crystal model number 3 dates about 1910. It was made in many colors to suit the different styles of your kitchen, and just recently, a rare red color was discovered and has become quite popular among collectors. A yellow color has also surfaced, but there are not many in existence due to lack of desire during the time of production.

The Arcade Co made it very easy for users to know that they owned genuine Arcade grinders. Their company name with model number is included on the cast iron base of the grinder. The name “Crystal” and sometimes even the model number are visible on the glass canister of the mill.
