Armoire

An armoire is a tall, usually portable wardrobe cabinet for storing clothes. Its original French usage was as a storage cabinet for arms or weapons. Later versions used for clothes and as a clothes press, featured removable pegs to facilitate transport. The armoire has a tall section and usually also has shelves at the bottom. Armoire
Armoire The British name the same type furniture an "oakley". The French "armoire" dates back to the 16th century. Modern times have seen the armoire converted to computer workstations or entertainment centers.
