Bachelor's Chest

A bachelor's chest is a small chest of drawers or doors that rises to a lower overall height than other chests of drawers. Some sources state that the bachelor's chest has three levels of drawers (although some have four), and range from 24 to 36 inches wide by 30 to 36 inches tall. The item has also been described as having a lift-over, slide, or hinged top on lopers or pull-out rails. Bachelor''s Chest
Bachelor''s Chest Thought to have originated in the 18th Century, the antique bachelor's chest to the right and below are fine examples.
