Dart Boards

Dart boards are used in the games of darts, originated in Great Britain and typically involving 6 darts (three for each team), as well as a colored or marked dartboard that the darts are thrown at. Points are received dependent upon the dart’s place on the board.

Darts can be traced back to Medieval times in Great Britain, and was created as an indoor, smaller version of a type of archery. Brian Gamlin is credited as the founder and creator of darts in 1896; as he is the person who first thought to place various numbers around the dartboard, so that there are more specific areas to aim for on the board.
Dart Boards
Dart Boards It is traditionally seen as a game that is played at billiard halls or pubs, but was also enjoyed amongst royalty in Great Britain as well. From the 1700's through the Victorian era, many different versions of dart boards exist; originally many dartboard that were created were simple and only made of cork. It wasn’t until later that they were created with wooden frames and chalk to keep score, and a smaller corked area. The darts themselves were usually made of wood. Several different dart games were used on these boards, such as Cricket.
