As with many porcelain companies, Lenox china marks have varied considerably over the years. This can lead to confusion among people who are trying to date their pieces of Lenox china. For many years, a green wreath was marked on those items that were decorated at the factory between the years of 1906 and 1930. Around 1931, the words Made in USA were added to the mark. By 1955, however, many of the Lenox china items began showing a gold wreath as its mark instead of the green wreath.

Because of the many name changes that Lenox china went through, it is important to note that marks bearing the words Ceramic Arts Company or Lenox Belleek are still Lenox china marks. The oldest of the Lenox china marks were black. The Ceramic Arts Company mark was depicted as a letter L in the middle of a reef while a mark simply stating Lenox Belleek also denoted a piece of Lenox china.
