Salvador Ysart , a Spaniard , was the founder of the glass company ‘ Ysart Brothers Glass ‘. In his initial days, he worked as an employee at one of the famous glasshouses in France called Verrerie Schneider, that was situated near Paris. Having worked there till 1915, he moved to Scotland.
Ysart joined John Moncrieff in 1922 at the latter’s company, Moncrieff Glassworks, at Perth in Scotland. The glass Monart , known for its exuberant quality , is a product of this company. The success of this Scottish glass brought forward the sons of Salvador, named Paul, Vincent, Augustine, and Antoine, to work as a team at Moncrieff in making of some artistic glass products.

In 1920’s Monart Glass enjoyed its immense success and remained active in the market of production until the outbreak of the Second World War in 1939. This crisis created a hampered productivity and equally disrupted distribution. After the war's end, Salvador resumed work in 1946. He parted with Moncrieff Glassworks and established Ysart Brothers Glass at Perth along with his two sons, Vincent and Augustine. This glass named Vasart bore the initials of these three men giving pastel colours to various glass items.
