The Victorian Horn Chair has a history dating to the last half of the Nineteenth Century. Created in The British Isles, Europe, and The United States, this rustic and rugged type of antique furniture often featured leather upholstery. The hallmarks of these pieces were the arms, feet, and trim made from various animal horns.
The horns could be any number of mammals, including deer, antelope, moose, or simply horns from cattle.

Prior to his untimely death, Prince Albert is said to have induced Queen Victoria herself to engage in outdoor sport involving the hunting of horned animals. Victorian Horn Chairs are often duplicated, but period pieces ceased to appear around the beginning of the Twentieth Century.
